Every Job That Qualifies for Nevada's $20,000 Worker Advantage Grant

by Ryan Rose

Nevada's Worker Advantage Program offers $20,000 in housing assistance to full time essential workers. The program covers 47 specific professions across four major categories: healthcare, education, public safety, and construction. If your job title appears on this list and you meet the other eligibility requirements, you could qualify for the grant.

Healthcare Professions

The healthcare category includes 13 qualifying roles. Physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nurse practitioners all qualify. So do medical assistants, surgical technologists, radiologic technologists, and laboratory technicians. Pharmacists, home health aides, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical receptionists round out the list.

With the ongoing demand for healthcare workers in Las Vegas, this category covers a wide range of income levels and career stages. Whether you are a home health aide early in your career or an experienced nurse looking to buy, the program applies to you.

Education Professions

Ten education roles qualify for the grant. Elementary, middle, and high school teachers are eligible, along with special education teachers, teacher aides, and school counselors. The list also includes school bus drivers, administrators, instructional coordinators, librarians, school secretaries, and custodians.

This broad coverage means the program reaches beyond the classroom. Support staff who keep schools running every day have the same access to the $20,000 grant as the teachers they work alongside.

Public Safety Professions

Public safety is the largest category with 12 qualifying roles. Police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics all qualify. So do sheriffs, deputy sheriffs, correctional officers, and dispatchers. State troopers, border patrol agents, search and rescue technicians, hazmat technicians, public safety divers, and wildland firefighters complete the group.

Construction and Skilled Trades

The construction category also includes 12 professions. Carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and pipefitters are on the list. Concrete finishers, ironworkers, heavy equipment operators, drywall installers, roofers, masons, painters, glaziers, and general laborers all qualify as well.

Las Vegas continues to grow rapidly, and these tradespeople are building the homes that other families move into. The Worker Advantage Program ensures they can buy homes of their own.

Key Requirements Beyond Your Job Title

Having an eligible job is just the first step. You must also work full time, have lived in Nevada for at least six months, hold a credit score of 640 or higher, and earn no more than 150% of the area median income (currently $142,350 in Clark County). The home must be a primary residence priced at or below $832,750. Your certified lender will verify all of these details during the application process.
