Las Vegas Homes Near Fire Stations and Police Precincts
If you protect Las Vegas as a firefighter, police officer, or EMT, living close to your station can save you time, money, and stress. The Nevada Worker Advantage Program offers $20,000 in down payment assistance to help public safety workers buy a home near where they serve.
Fire Stations Across Las Vegas
Clark County Fire Department operates 42 stations spread throughout the valley, handling roughly 200,000 incidents per year. Las Vegas Fire and Rescue adds additional stations concentrated in the urban core. With stations in nearly every zip code, firefighters have the flexibility to buy in neighborhoods that put them minutes from their assigned house.
Stations near the northwest corridor along Cheyenne and the 215 Beltway serve growing communities where median home prices sit around $450,000. Central stations near Charleston and Sahara serve older, more affordable neighborhoods where you can find homes below the Las Vegas median of $482,000.
LVMPD Area Commands and Substations
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department operates nine area commands across the valley:
Downtown Area Command (DTAC) at 621 N 9th St sits near revitalized downtown neighborhoods. Northeast Area Command (NEAC) at 3750 Cecile Ave covers neighborhoods along Lake Mead and Nellis. Northwest Area Command (NWAC) at 9850 W Cheyenne Ave is positioned in one of the fastest growing parts of the valley. Southeast Area Command (SEAC) at 3675 E Harmon Ave serves the east side. Enterprise Area Command at 6975 W Windmill Ln serves the southwest. Spring Valley Area Command at 8445 Eldora Ave covers Spring Valley and the western suburbs.
How the $20,000 Grant Works for Public Safety Workers
The Worker Advantage Program provides $20,000 as a 0% interest, no payment second mortgage over 30 years. Twelve public safety positions qualify, including police officers, firefighters and EMTs, and correctional officers. You need a minimum 640 credit score, six months of Nevada residency, and household income at or below $142,350 in Clark County.
At the Las Vegas median home price of $482,000, the $20,000 grant covers more than 4% of the purchase price. That can handle your entire FHA down payment with funds left for closing costs.
Neighborhoods to Consider
Officers assigned to NWAC can explore Centennial Hills and Skye Canyon, where newer homes start in the low $400,000s. Firefighters stationed in the southwest corridor will find Mountains Edge and Southern Highlands offering homes near $485,000 with quick access to multiple CCFD stations. Those working near DTAC or Bolden can look at revitalized neighborhoods west of downtown where prices remain below the valley median.
Ryan Rose: One Local Insight
I work with first responders across the valley who want to live close to their duty stations. One of the smartest strategies is narrowing your home search to neighborhoods within two area commands of your current assignment, since transfers happen and you want flexibility. The $20,000 Worker Advantage grant gives public safety workers a real advantage in this market. If you are ready to find a home near your station, reach out to me directly or check what your current home might be worth if you need to sell before buying.
