Century Communities Acquires Skye Canyon Land

Century Communities acquired the remaining 400 plus acres of Skye Canyon in 2020, taking over as master developer from Olympia Companies and continuing the buildout of the 1,700 acre Las Vegas community.

When did Century Communities buy Skye Canyon?

The acquisition was announced in 2020. Century Communities, a national homebuilder and master developer, purchased the remaining 400 plus acres of the Skye Canyon master plan from Olympia Companies. At the time of the deal, the original phases were already built out or under construction, with the first homes having opened in 2016.

The deal gave Century control over the final phases of a community originally planned for about 6,500 homes, with some projections reaching 9,000 at full buildout. Active construction has continued through 2026.

What changed after Century took over?

Century kept the master plan vision in place. The five community parks, the trail network, the dedicated bike lanes, and the broader amenity package all remained part of the design. Construction on new neighborhoods continued without a long pause, and the existing builder roster stayed largely intact, including Toll Brothers, Lennar, Pulte, Beazer, LGI, Woodside, Richmond American, Pardee, and Taylor Morrison.

Century also builds homes inside Skye Canyon itself, which adds another national brand to the lineup. Since the acquisition, Skye Canyon has been named to top 50 master planned community lists in the United States, and at one point ranked around number 22 by new home sales.
