by Ryan Rose

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is one of the top natural attractions near Spring Valley, located just west of the neighborhood with a drive time of roughly 20 minutes. Spring Valley residents enjoy some of the closest and most convenient access to this iconic desert landscape in the Las Vegas Valley.

How Do You Get to Red Rock Canyon From Spring Valley?

The most direct route from Spring Valley follows Charleston Boulevard (State Route 159) west toward the mountains. The drive covers approximately 15 to 20 miles depending on your starting point within the neighborhood and typically takes 20 to 25 minutes in normal traffic. An alternate route follows Blue Diamond Road (SR 160) west to the junction with SR 159 for those coming from the southern end of Spring Valley.

The conservation area entrance leads to a one way, 13 mile scenic loop drive with pullouts for trailheads, overlooks, and picnic areas. The visitor center near the entrance offers maps, exhibits, and information about current trail conditions.

Do You Need Reservations for Red Rock Canyon?
