New Construction at Queensridge: Badlands Lennar Development

by Ryan Rose

New construction is coming to the Queensridge area as Lennar Homes has been approved by the Las Vegas City Council to develop housing on the former 250 acre Badlands Golf Club property. This decision marks the end of one of the most contentious land use battles in recent Las Vegas history and opens the door for significant residential development adjacent to the established Queensridge community.

The Badlands Golf Club Background

The Badlands Golf Club was a 27 hole desert golf course that wrapped around portions of the Queensridge master plan. The course ceased operations and fell into disrepair, prompting the property owner to pursue residential development. Queensridge homeowners and nearby residents challenged the plans, leading to a prolonged legal dispute that resulted in over $223 million in awarded damages to the developer. The resolution cleared the path for Lennar Homes to move forward with new housing on the site.

What Lennar Plans to Build

Lennar Homes, one of the largest homebuilders in the United States, will develop new residential properties on the former golf course land. While specific floor plans and pricing have not been fully released as of early 2026, Lennar is known for building a range of housing types, from single family homes to townhome style residences. Given the premium location adjacent to Queensridge in the western Las Vegas corridor, these homes are expected to target the upper end of the market.

How This Affects Existing Queensridge Homeowners

New construction activity near established luxury communities often generates increased buyer traffic and market attention. For current Queensridge homeowners, the Lennar development could boost property visibility and contribute to sustained demand in the area. The addition of new inventory also gives prospective buyers more options within the same desirable corridor, which can strengthen the overall market rather than dilute it.

Location Advantages

The former Badlands property benefits from the same location strengths that make Queensridge appealing. The site is roughly 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, near Tivoli Village and Downtown Summerlin shopping, and just 2.6 miles from Summerlin Hospital Medical Center. Red Rock Canyon is a short drive to the west, providing outdoor recreation access that few Las Vegas neighborhoods can match.

What Buyers Should Know

Buyers interested in the Lennar development should monitor announcements for model home openings, pricing, and community features. Those who prefer established homes with mature landscaping and immediate availability may find better fits within existing Queensridge sub communities like Queensridge North, Fairway Pointe, Tudor Park, or One Queensridge Place.
