Henderson maintains over 300 miles of trails accessible to Green Valley residents, making the area one of the best communities in the Las Vegas valley for walking, jogging, and cycling. From paved neighborhood paths to regional multi use trails, the trail infrastructure connects parks, schools, shopping areas, and residential neighborhoods across the community.

Major Trails

The Harry Reid Union Pacific Railroad Trail extends 13 miles of paved asphalt through southeastern Green Valley and Henderson. Originally a railroad corridor, the converted trail provides a flat, wide surface ideal for walking, running, cycling, and stroller use. The trail connects multiple parks and neighborhoods, making it possible to walk long distances without sharing the road with vehicle traffic. Access points are located throughout Green Valley South and Ranch.

The Amargosa Trail winds through Hidden Falls Park and provides additional connected route options through the Henderson trail network. The trail system within Cornerstone Park at 1600 Wigwam Parkway offers scenic loops around the park's pond with exercise stations positioned along the route. Paseo Verde Park trails connect to surrounding neighborhoods and provide shorter loop options for daily walks.

Neighborhood Connectivity

Green Valley was designed with pedestrian connectivity in mind. Many neighborhoods feature sidewalk networks and dedicated walking paths that connect residential streets to parks, schools, and commercial areas. Green Valley Ranch's trail system links residents to The District at Green Valley Ranch and the GVR Resort via pedestrian pathways, reducing the need to drive for nearby errands and dining.

Year Round Use

With 297 sunny days per year and mild winters averaging 58 to 59 degree highs in December and January, Green Valley's trails are usable approximately 9 to 10 months per year. During summer months, early morning (before 9 AM) and evening (after 6 PM) are the preferred times for outdoor activity. The Henderson Multigenerational Center's indoor walking track at 250 S Green Valley Parkway provides a climate controlled alternative during extreme heat.
