Swig "Dirty Soda" Opened Its Third Las Vegas Valley Shop in Aliante

What Happened on Aliante Parkway

Swig announced the new North Las Vegas shop in an Instagram post on Thursday, Sept. 24, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Neon section. The shop sits at 7321 N. Aliante Parkway, Suite 100. That puts it on the main road that runs through the Aliante master-planned community, a spot many north valley families pass every day on the way to school, work or the grocery store.

The opening-day deal was simple. From opening until 7 p.m. that Thursday, every guest could get one free drink. It was one per person and one day only. If you missed it, you missed it, and there has been no word of a repeat. From here on, drinks at the Aliante shop are regular price.

Swig was founded in Utah in 2010. It calls itself the "Home of the Original Dirty Soda." A dirty soda is a regular soft drink mixed with things like cream, fruit juice and flavored syrups. The Review-Journal describes it as landing somewhere between an ice cream float and an old-school Italian soda. Picture your usual fountain soda with a splash of cream and a shot of fruit flavor. It is sweet, it is cold, and it is built for hot Las Vegas afternoons.

The chain got a big national boost from TV. Swig was featured on "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," the Hulu reality show. The cast talked about and rated their favorite Swig drinks, and that sent a wave of social media attention toward the brand. Before the show, many people outside Utah had never heard of a dirty soda. After it, lots of people wanted to try one.

The Aliante shop is Swig's third in the valley. The first opened on East Silverado Ranch Boulevard in January 2025. The second opened on South Rainbow Boulevard in early May 2025. Now, more than a year later, the north valley finally has one too.

Why It Matters to Las Vegas Residents

Let's be honest. A soda shop is not a new freeway or a school bond. But openings like this one are the kind of news people actually feel in their daily lives. Where you can grab a drink, a snack or a quick treat after school pickup shapes what a neighborhood feels like. And for a long time, if you lived in the north valley and wanted a Swig, you had a long drive ahead of you.

Look at the map. The Silverado Ranch shop is in the southeast part of the valley. The Rainbow Boulevard shop is in the southwest. Both are a real haul from Aliante, Centennial Hills, Skye Canyon or the newer neighborhoods along the 215 in North Las Vegas. On a summer afternoon, nobody wants to drive clear across the valley for a soda. The Aliante shop fixes that for a big chunk of the north side.

This also says something about where brands are choosing to grow. When a chain that already has a following picks a spot, it tends to go where there are lots of households, steady traffic and families with kids. The north valley has all of that. North Las Vegas has added a lot of new homes over the past several years, and new shops tend to follow the rooftops. A national-name drink shop landing on Aliante Parkway is one more sign that businesses see the north side as a place worth investing in.

For families, a drive-up drink shop is also just practical. These shops are built for quick stops. You can swing by between soccer practice and dinner without getting everyone out of the car. That convenience is a big part of why drink shops like this have spread so fast in suburban areas across the West.

There is a heat angle here, too. Las Vegas summers are long, and even late September can feel like summer. Cold drinks are not a small business in this town. They are a daily habit for a lot of people. A shop built around icy, sweet drinks tends to do well in a place where the afternoon high sits in the triple digits for months at a time. That helps explain why a Utah chain would keep adding shops here instead of stopping at one.

And for people in Henderson, this news stings a little. Henderson was first in line. The city approved a Swig more than a year before the North Las Vegas shop opened. Yet Henderson residents still have to drive to Silverado Ranch, and now North Las Vegas has one of its own. That "when is Henderson's coming?" question is a fair one, and we will get to it below.

Background: How Swig Came to Las Vegas

Swig's path into Southern Nevada started in Henderson, not Las Vegas. In early October 2024, the Review-Journal reported that Swig had submitted plans for a store on East Horizon Drive in the Black Mountain area of Henderson. The Henderson Planning Commission was set to consider it at its Oct. 10, 2024, meeting.

The plans were for a small store. According to planning documents cited by the Review-Journal, it would be 760 square feet with two drive-through lanes for ordering, no speaker box and no indoor dining. The proposed hours were 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The address was 771 E. Horizon Drive, in the Cornett Plaza. At the time, it was pitched as the first Swig in Nevada. The chain then had locations in six states, with more on the way. Henderson planning officials approved the store that October.

But Henderson did not end up getting the first one. Instead, Swig opened at 1160 E. Silverado Ranch Blvd., Suite 100, in the southeast valley. Its drive-through opened first, and the grand opening came on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025. At that time, Swig said a second shop at Rainbow Boulevard and Arby Avenue was slated to open in March.

That second shop ran a little late. Swig opened it at 7170 S. Rainbow Blvd., Suite 100-C, in early May 2025. When it opened, Swig's website listed hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week, for that location.

There is one more piece of background worth knowing. Swig is closely tied to the phrase "dirty soda," but it does not own the idea. In April 2024, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office suspended Swig's application to register the words "Dirty Soda." The office noted that mixing sodas with creamers and flavors is not new and is not limited to one chain. That is why you will see dirty sodas on menus at other shops around town, too.

What Happens Next

For Aliante, the next step is simple. The shop is open, the opening-day rush is behind it, and now it has to win over regular customers. Opening week at any new spot tends to be busy. If you want to try it without a long line, a weekday afternoon a few weeks from now is probably a better bet than the first weekend. Before you go, check Swig's website or its Instagram for current hours at the Aliante location, since hours can vary from shop to shop.

For Henderson, the picture is less clear. According to the Review-Journal's Sept. 24 report, building records show the East Horizon Drive project as still pending, with no listed permits since August 2024. Business records also do not show a license for Swig in Henderson. That does not mean the Henderson shop is dead. It does mean nothing visible has moved in about two years. Until permits get pulled and construction starts, there is no real way to guess an opening date.

The bigger question is whether Swig keeps growing here. Three shops in about 20 months is a steady pace. The chain has now covered the southeast, the southwest and the north. Henderson, the east side and the far northwest are the obvious gaps. The Review-Journal's latest report did not mention any other planned valley shops, so anything beyond the Henderson site is just a guess for now. If new plans do show up, they will likely surface first in city or county planning agendas, the same way the Henderson store did back in 2024.

It is also worth watching how the Aliante shop does over its first few months. Opening-day giveaways always draw a crowd, so they do not tell you much. The real test is whether the drive-through line is still busy on an ordinary Tuesday in November, when the weather cools and the novelty wears off. If it is, that is a good sign for the north valley's shopping centers in general, and it could make other brands take a closer look at Aliante Parkway and the streets around it.

I like stories like this one because they show how a neighborhood grows. People do not only buy a house. They buy the 10-minute radius around it. When I work with buyers looking in the north valley, they ask about schools, parks and commute times, but they also ask where the nearest coffee shop is, where the kids can grab a treat and what is going in down the street. A new, well-known shop on Aliante Parkway is a small but real answer to that last question.

I would not tell anyone to buy a home because a soda shop opened nearby. That is not how it works, and one store does not move home values. But I do pay attention to where brands with a following decide to plant a flag. They do their homework on traffic, households and spending before they sign a lease. When they pick the north valley, it lines up with what I see on the ground: more families, more rooftops and more reasons to stay close to home instead of driving to the south end for everything. North Las Vegas is also getting new trail miles along the Beltway, which I wrote about in our look at the Beltway trail phases from Decatur to Losee. Put those pieces together and the north side keeps getting more livable. As for Henderson, I would not count on that Horizon Drive shop until you see a building permit.

What You Can Do

If you live in Aliante, Centennial Hills or anywhere in the north valley, go try it. The Aliante shop is at 7321 N. Aliante Parkway, Suite 100. The free opening-day drinks are done, but the regular menu is there every day. Check Swig's website or Instagram for the shop's hours before you head over, and plan on a line during after-school and weekend rush times while the shop is still new.

A quick tip if you are going for the first time: look at the menu online before you pull up. Dirty soda menus can be long, with lots of mix-ins and sizes, and it is easy to freeze at the speaker or window with a line of cars behind you. Picking your drink ahead of time makes the stop faster for you and for everyone else. And if you have kids along, it helps to settle the "which one do I get" debate before you are in the lane.

If you run a small business in the north valley, this is a good moment to pay attention too. New shops bring new traffic to a shopping center. Neighbors who come for a drink may notice the other stores nearby for the first time.

If you are in Henderson and want to know when your Swig is coming, keep an eye on public records. The City of Henderson posts planning and building information, and a new building permit on 771 E. Horizon Drive would be the first real sign of progress. Until then, your closest options are still the Silverado Ranch shop at 1160 E. Silverado Ranch Blvd. and the Rainbow shop at 7170 S. Rainbow Blvd.
