The STRAT Tower Rides and Observation Deck in Las Vegas
The STRAT Tower near Naked City is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States at 1,149 feet, offering thrill rides, indoor and outdoor observation decks, and panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley.
What Rides Are at The STRAT Tower?
The STRAT SkyPod features some of the most extreme thrill rides in Las Vegas. Big Shot launches riders 160 feet into the air from the top of the tower, while X Scream dangles passengers over the edge of the platform more than 800 feet above the ground. SkyJump holds a Guinness World Record and allows visitors to leap from the tower in a controlled descent that reaches speeds of 40 miles per hour. These attractions make The STRAT one of the most unique entertainment venues on or near the Las Vegas Strip.
What Can You See from The STRAT Observation Deck?
The tower offers two observation levels for guests who prefer sightseeing over adrenaline. Level 108 is an indoor observation deck with floor to ceiling windows providing 360 degree views of the valley, the Strip, and the surrounding mountain ranges. Level 109 is the outdoor observation deck where visitors can feel the open air at more than 1,000 feet above street level. On clear days, visibility extends well beyond the city limits. The observation decks are open daily from 10am to 1am, and general admission tickets start at approximately $30.
How Close Is The STRAT to Naked City?
The STRAT sits roughly 0.3 miles from the Naked City neighborhood, making it one of the closest major attractions for local residents. Walking to the tower takes about five to seven minutes from most parts of the neighborhood. The tower also houses the Top of the World revolving restaurant, a fine dining experience covered in a separate blog post. For residents of Naked City, having a world class observation tower and entertainment complex within walking distance adds a distinctive element to daily life in this neighborhood.
Ryan Rose recommends visiting The STRAT during weekday mornings when crowds are lighter and observation deck tickets are easiest to purchase, noting that Naked City residents can walk over in minutes rather than dealing with Strip traffic.
