Chalktober Fest at Skye Canyon

Chalktober Fest is one of Skye Canyon's biggest annual events. The fall festival combines a chalk art competition, vendor fair, pumpkin patch, and family activities at Skye Canyon Park. Around 3,000 attendees show up each year.

What happens at Chalktober Fest?

The centerpiece is a chalk art competition with three skill categories: Student, Amateur, and Pro. Each category awards cash prizes of $300 for first place, $200 for second, and $100 for third. Special awards include Best 3D, Best Use of Color, and People's Choice. Artists work on canvas squares throughout the day while visitors walk through and watch the pieces come to life.

Beyond the chalk art, the festival features more than 30 vendors, a pumpkin patch, a free canvas painting class, inflatable games, a rock wall, and an air jumper. Food trucks at past events have included Alpha Dawg, Greek Delights, Horsetrailer Hideout, and Flat Tops. Proceeds from the event benefit Project 150, a Las Vegas charity supporting homeless youth.
