Big Skye Park at Skye Canyon
Big Skye Park is the Skye Canyon neighborhood park built around dog owners and open play space. It includes a small dog park, a large dog park, a basketball court, a spacious play field, and green spaces, and it is open dawn to dusk for residents.
What Is Big Skye Park?
Big Skye Park is one of four neighborhood parks inside Skye Canyon, joining Eagle Canyon, Skye View, and Knight Skye. It is the second Skye Canyon park with separated small-dog and large-dog areas, which is why families with multiple or mixed-size dogs tend to favor it. The basketball court and spacious play field round out the active options.
The park is included in the master HOA at $83 per month and is open dawn to dusk. Skye Canyon's standard dog park rules apply: 2 dogs maximum per visitor, current vaccinations required, and leashed entry and exit through the gated areas.
What Activities Does It Support?
Based on Ryan Rose's experience with dog-owner buyers, Big Skye Park is the second stop after Skye View on most tours because the dual dog parks give residents two solid options in the same community. The basketball court adds an outdoor workout option that does not require driving to the fitness center, and the wide play field handles pickup soccer, frisbee, and casual catch.
The green spaces and play field also make Big Skye one of the easier parks for families who want room to spread out. Trails and bike lanes connect it to the broader Skye Canyon network, so residents can walk over from neighboring streets.
Local Insight from Ryan Rose
Ryan Rose recommends Big Skye Park to families with dogs who want a quieter alternative to Skye View. The basketball court is a bonus for parents with older kids who want something to do while the dogs run, and the open play field gives toddlers room to move without competing for playground equipment.
