Is Providence a Gated Community?

No, not as a whole. Providence is an open master plan in northwest Las Vegas near Centennial Hills, with public streets and three community parks that anyone can drive to. The Providence Master HOA describes the community as 27 neighborhoods with more than 5,600 homes, and it says plainly that some of those neighborhoods have private entry gates, community pools and other amenities of their own.

That is the thing most buyers get wrong when they search. You are not choosing between gated Providence and ungated Providence. You are choosing among 27 neighborhoods, some of which have their own entry gate, while the rest sit on open streets a block away with the same access to The Promenade, Knickerbocker Park and Huckleberry Park.

What Is the Difference Between Gated and Guard Gated?

A gated neighborhood has a rolling or swing gate on a code, a clicker or a call box. Nobody is sitting there. A guard gated community has staffed security at the entry, which is a different monthly cost and a different level of access control. Here is what actually closed. Las Vegas MLS records 223 home sales in Providence from July 25 through September 23, 2026, at a median price of $500,000.

Half of those sales landed between $415,000 and $619,900, so that middle band is the realistic range for most buyers.

Across the same sales, the median worked out to about $249 per square foot and the median home went under contract in about 30 days.

By property type, the medians were single family homes at $525,000 (194 sales), townhomes at $350,000 (17 sales) and condos at $253,995 (12 sales).
