Is Seven Hills Henderson a Good Place to Live?

Seven Hills Henderson offers one of the more convenient commute positions among Henderson's master planned communities. The majority of working residents commute between 15 and 30 minutes one way, with easy highway access via St. Rose Parkway, Interstate 215, and Interstate 15. Southeast Henderson traffic tends to be lighter and more predictable than what residents in Summerlin or northwest Las Vegas experience.

Major Roads and Highway Access

St. Rose Parkway (State Route 146) runs along Seven Hills' northern boundary and serves as the primary east west connector. It provides direct access to I 15 heading toward the Strip and downtown Las Vegas, as well as connections to I 215 (the Bruce Woodbury Beltway) for a full loop around the valley. Eastern Avenue runs along the west side of Seven Hills as the main north south corridor, connecting to the I 215 interchange.

Seven Hills has two primary entry points: via Eastern Avenue on the west side and Executive Airport Drive on the east side, both connecting to Seven Hills Drive and Grand Hills Drive within the community. The proximity to I 215 gives residents efficient access to most parts of the Las Vegas valley without relying on surface streets through congested corridors.

Drive Times to Key Destinations

The Las Vegas Strip is approximately 15 to 22 minutes depending on your destination, with the south end of the Strip (near Mandalay Bay) being the closest. Harry Reid International Airport sits roughly 8 miles away, typically a 15 to 16 minute drive via I 215. Henderson Executive Airport is even closer at about 4 miles. Downtown Henderson and the Water Street District are approximately 10 to 19 minutes depending on the route and starting point within Seven Hills. Downtown Las Vegas (Fremont Street) is roughly 25 to 30 minutes via I 11 or I 15.

Seven Hills is a car dependent community. Public transit is limited to bus routes 110 and 221 along Eastern Avenue and Horizon Ridge, though the vast majority of residents drive. St. Rose Dominican Hospital (Siena Campus) is approximately a five minute drive, and UNLV is about 15 to 20 minutes away.

Local Expert Insight

Ryan Rose points out that Seven Hills' commute advantage is often underappreciated. The combination of proximity to I 215 and the generally lighter traffic patterns in southeast Henderson means residents can reach the Strip, the airport, and most major employment centers faster than counterparts in many Summerlin or North Las Vegas communities. Eastern Avenue can see congestion during peak hours, but it clears quickly compared to the valley's major bottlenecks.
