Summerlin West is the newest section of the Summerlin master plan and offers some of the best outdoor recreation access in the Las Vegas valley. Communities in this area, including Reverence, sit at higher elevations along the base of the Spring Mountains, putting residents closer to trails, parks, and Red Rock Canyon than anywhere else in the metro area.

Summerlin Trail System

The Summerlin trail system spans over 200 miles of interconnected paths across the master plan. Summerlin West communities connect to this network, with both paved paths for walking and cycling and natural surface trails for a more rugged experience. A 10 mile completed section runs along the 215 Beltway, and ongoing expansion continues to add connectivity.

The planned Clark County Red Rock Canyon Legacy Trails project will eventually add a 5.5 mile section starting near Sky Vista Drive in Summerlin, linking directly to the Red Rock Canyon Visitors Center. This will give Summerlin West residents trail access to the conservation area without driving.

Red Rock Canyon

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is the crown jewel of outdoor recreation near Summerlin West. The 13 mile scenic loop drive provides access to over 30 miles of hiking trails ranging from easy family walks to technical scrambles. Summerlin West communities are typically 5 to 10 minutes from the scenic loop entrance, making morning hikes a quick routine outing.

Popular trails include Calico Tanks (moderate, 2.5 miles round trip), Keystone Thrust (moderate, 2.2 miles), and the family friendly Moenkopi Loop (easy, 2 miles). Rock climbing, mountain biking, and horseback riding are also available within the conservation area.

Community Parks

Summerlin West villages are each built around a central park. Reverence Park is eight acres with tennis, basketball, volleyball, a walking track, and playground. Other Summerlin West parks offer additional facilities including soccer fields, dog parks, and splash pads. The Summerlin Council manages community programming and events at parks across the master plan.

Golf

While Summerlin West does not have a golf course within its immediate boundaries, multiple courses are accessible within a short drive. Bear's Best Las Vegas, TPC Las Vegas, and Angel Park Golf Club all serve the broader Summerlin area.
