What Are the Best Las Vegas Neighborhoods for Commuting to the Strip?

The shortest commutes to the Las Vegas Strip usually come from the areas that border it: Spring Valley to the west, Enterprise and Southern Highlands to the south, and Green Valley in Henderson to the southeast. These areas connect to the Strip through Interstate 15 and the 215 Beltway. The real answer depends on which resort you work at and what time your shift starts.

Which Areas Sit Closest to the Strip?

Several areas near the Strip are part of unincorporated Clark County, not the City of Las Vegas. Clark County lists Paradise, Spring Valley, Enterprise and Winchester among its urban towns, each with its own town advisory board.

Spring Valley sits west of the Strip, on the other side of Interstate 15. Having more than one route helps when one backs up, so ask Ryan to map a backup drive too.

Enterprise and Southern Highlands sit south of the Strip along Interstate 15. This is handy for resorts on the south end of the Strip.

Green Valley and other parts of Henderson connect by the 215 Beltway and Interstate 15. Henderson is its own city, with its own police and parks.

Summerlin and the northwest, including Centennial Hills and Skye Canyon, are farther out. Many people still make that drive every day because they want what those areas offer, like big park systems and newer homes.

How Long Is the Average Las Vegas Commute?

The U.S. Census Bureau's QuickFacts, based on the 2020 to 2024 American Community Survey, lists the mean travel time to work as 25.7 minutes in the City of Las Vegas, 24.3 minutes in Henderson and 26.7 minutes in North Las Vegas. Those are citywide averages for all jobs, not just Strip jobs.

Your own drive will depend on the exact resort, where you park and your shift. A graveyard shift drive can look nothing like a 5 p.m. drive.

Can You Get to the Strip Without a Car?

Yes, on some routes. RTC's August 2026 route guide says the Deuce on the Strip runs 24 hours a day, every day. Depending on the time of day, it is scheduled about every 10 to 15 minutes or about every 20 minutes.

Plan for special events too. The same RTC guide warns that the Deuce will run a modified schedule and route from November 17 to 25, 2026, because of Formula 1 race activities.
