The new name ties the development directly to the La Madre Mountains, which form the dramatic backdrop to the community, and the word Astra references the stars, fitting for a community at 4,125 feet elevation with some of the clearest night skies in the valley.

The rebranding also helped distinguish the community from other developments and better communicated its positioning as the highest residential community in the Las Vegas Valley. With 167 custom homesites across 171 acres and lot prices from $2.6 million to $5.79 million, the name needed to match the scale and exclusivity of the offering.

The 24 hour guard gated security, custom homesite model, and lot sizes ranging from 0.49 acres to over 2 acres were all part of the original plan under the Amaya name. Finished home prices are still projected between $7 million and $20 million or more, and Howard Hughes Holdings remains the developer.

The key changes were cosmetic and marketing focused. New branding materials, updated signage, and a refreshed identity were rolled out to align with the Astra name. Buyers who had been tracking the project under the Amaya name should know that all development plans, lot configurations, and community features carried forward without material changes.

If you encounter older articles, listings, or references to Amaya in Summerlin, they are referring to the same community now known as Astra at La Madre Peaks. The location, developer, and product have not changed. The community sits within La Madre Peaks Village on the western edge of Summerlin, adjacent to Red Rock Canyon, and remains the most exclusive new residential development in Las Vegas.
