The Summerlin trail system is one of the largest community trail networks in the western United States, with over 200 miles of trails currently in place and plans to eventually reach more than 250 miles. For Reverence residents, the trail system provides direct access to walking, jogging, and cycling paths that connect neighborhoods across the entire Summerlin master plan.

Types of Trails

The Summerlin trail system includes six distinct trail types, each serving a different purpose.

Street-side trails are the backbone of the system. These landscaped and lighted paths run alongside major roads and are ideal for walking, jogging, and strolling. They connect Summerlin's villages and make it possible to travel between neighborhoods on foot or by bike without using major roadways.

Village trails are located in natural arroyos and open spaces within individual Summerlin villages. These paths offer a quieter, more natural walking experience away from road noise.

Bike lanes run along arterial and collector roads, typically four to six feet in width, providing dedicated cycling corridors that link villages across the community.

Regional trails connect Summerlin to Bureau of Land Management land in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. These trails are constructed through public-private partnerships and provide a link between suburban living and wilderness access.

Natural trails are earthen-tread paths within undeveloped areas of the community, intended for hiking enthusiasts who want a more rugged outdoor experience without leaving Summerlin.

Red Rock Canyon Connection

A planned 20-mile bike and hike trail will connect cyclists and hikers from the village of Stonebridge to Red Rock Canyon via Nevada State Route 159. This extension will significantly expand the outdoor recreation options available to Summerlin West residents, including those in Reverence, by creating a continuous trail from the community to the conservation area.

Access from Reverence

Reverence connects to the Summerlin trail system through the community's perimeter paths and nearby street-side trails. Residents can step outside the gates and access landscaped walking paths that lead to Downtown Summerlin, neighboring villages, and the broader trail network without driving.
