Henderson's new $70 million Sports and Social Complex is open. The city cut the ribbon on Thursday, Oct. 15, and city officials call the 180,000-square-foot building the largest sports complex in the Las Vegas Valley.
The official name is Henderson Sport & Social. It sits at 3375 St. Rose Parkway, at the corner of St. Rose and Maryland Parkways in west Henderson. Inside, you will find bowling, an arcade, mini golf, darts, basketball courts, indoor turf fields, a fitness center, a restaurant and a two-story laser tag arena. It is open seven days a week, and you do not need a membership to walk in.
For Henderson families, this is a big deal. Summer in the valley is long and hot, and indoor places where kids can burn off energy fill up fast. This building puts youth leagues, a gym, bowling and a full family fun center under one roof. Henderson residents also get a 20 percent discount on many programs. Here is what is inside, how it got built, what the hours are, and what it could mean for the neighborhoods around it.
What Happened
Henderson held a ribbon cutting for the complex on Thursday, Oct. 15. KTNV 13 Action News reporter Malik Patterson was there, and he reported that the opening came after nearly 18 months of waiting. Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero spoke at the event. So did Steve Skinner, the CEO of Kemper Sports, the company that runs the building.
The project cost $70 million. Kemper Sports put in $10 million. The city of Henderson covered the other $60 million, according to FOX5 Las Vegas, and KTNV described the city working with partners on that share. It is a public-private partnership, which means the city and a private company teamed up to build and run it. Skinner told KTNV he was "very confident" the complex will succeed, given the excitement and community involvement he saw. He said the goal of the investment is to draw more people to Henderson.
The opening was rolled out in steps. A soft opening started Monday, Oct. 5. The complex had limited hours on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and Thursday, Oct. 15. The official opening to guests was Friday, Oct. 16, according to News 3 Las Vegas. A silent auction ran Oct. 16 and 17, with all proceeds going to the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. KTNV also reported that a taekwondo tournament was set for the first weekend, which is a good sign of how quickly the space will be booked.
People in the neighborhood came out for the ribbon cutting. Ryan Villanueva, 14, told KTNV he likes bowling and was excited to have it there. Richard Naft, who lives about a mile away, said the place is "very big." Mayor Romero talked about parents who come for one child's game and also have other kids along. Her point was simple. Now the brothers and sisters have something to do while they wait, too.
What Is Inside
The building is split into two worlds. One side is for sports. The other side is for fun. That is where the name Sport & Social comes from.
On the sports side, FOX5 reported four basketball courts that can convert for other uses, like volleyball. There are two hybrid turf fields that add up to 40,000 square feet. Those fields are built for indoor soccer, box lacrosse and indoor football. There is also a full fitness center with group classes and private training.
On the social side, there is a family entertainment area of about 30,000 square feet, according to FOX5. News 3 Las Vegas reported 20 bowling lanes. There is an arcade, a mini golf course and a double-decker laser tag arena. There are darts, a restaurant and bar, birthday party rooms and community rooms you can book for events.
Here are the hours posted on the official Henderson Sport & Social website as of Oct. 18:
- Sports: Sunday to Thursday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Social House (bowling, arcade, food and fun): Sunday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Fitness Center: Daily, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Child Watch: The site lists two different schedules, so call ahead before you count on it.
The website does not list prices for bowling, laser tag or mini golf. FOX5 reported back in June that a fitness membership would run about $55 a month and most youth sports leagues would cost about $100 a season. Check the website for current prices before you go.
Why It Matters to Las Vegas Residents
Ask any parent in the valley where to take kids on a 110-degree day, and the list gets short fast. Most families end up at the same few malls, movie theaters and trampoline parks. A building this size, with courts, turf, bowling and laser tag in one place, gives Henderson families a new year-round option. You can go in July and not melt in the parking lot.
Youth sports is the bigger story. Jeff Swanlund, the general manager, told FOX5 the idea came from "the pent up demand for youth sports." Anyone who has tried to sign a kid up for a valley basketball or soccer league knows what he means. Gym time is hard to find, and many teams practice wherever they can get a slot. FOX5 reported that youth and adult leagues started in October and run through December. The lineup includes basketball, soccer, flag football, volleyball and bowling. There are also starter programs for kids ages 5 and 6. Space is limited, and leagues are first come, first served.
The 20 percent resident discount matters too. Henderson residents get 20 percent off youth sports registration, fitness memberships and other select programs. Since the city put public money into the building, it is fair that the people who live there get a better price. For a family with two or three kids in leagues, that discount adds up over a year.
This also helps grown-ups. Adult leagues, a full gym and a bar with bowling lanes give adults a place to meet people. That is a real need in a valley where so many residents moved here from somewhere else. New neighbors often say the hardest part of moving to Las Vegas is making friends. A rec league is one of the easiest ways to fix that.
Background and History
This project has been in the works for a while. It started out as the West Henderson Fieldhouse. The project broke ground in July 2025, according to FOX5. KTNV first reported on it in 2024. In May 2026, Kemper Sports announced the new name, Henderson Sport & Social, along with a new logo. Kemper said it would be the city's first-ever fieldhouse.
Kemper Sports is not new to this. The company is based in the Chicago area. It says it manages more than 240 golf courses, private clubs, sports venues and resorts across the country. In this deal, the company helped pay for the building and now runs it day to day.
Mayor Romero called the naming "a major milestone for the City of Henderson" back in May. She said the project would create recreation options and bring in millions of dollars in economic impact. Henderson is Nevada's second-largest city, with more than 369,000 residents, according to Kemper's release. The city has grown fast, and much of that growth has pushed west and south. The St. Rose Parkway corridor has filled in with homes, shopping and new businesses over the years.
This was not the only Henderson news this week. The city also hosted its State of the City address, and Haas Automation announced plans to hire more than 1,000 workers at its new Henderson factory. Put together, those stories show a city that is building jobs and the kind of places families want near home.
What Happens Next
The first league season is underway. Youth and adult programs started in October and are set to run through December, according to FOX5. Expect the winter and spring seasons to open for sign-ups after that. If your child plays, keep an eye on the league page so you do not miss the next window. Space is first come, first served.
The next few months will also show how busy the place gets. The first weekend already had a taekwondo tournament on the calendar. Tournaments bring in families from across the valley and sometimes from out of state. That means more traffic on St. Rose Parkway on weekends, but it also means more customers for the restaurants and shops nearby. Kemper's CEO said the goal is to draw more people to Henderson, and tournaments are how that happens.
Watch for birthday party bookings to fill up, too. With laser tag, bowling and an arcade under one roof, this could become a go-to party spot for Henderson kids. If you have a party coming up in the next few months, book early.
Tips for Your First Visit
New places are always busiest in the first few weeks. Everyone wants to see what the fuss is about. If you want shorter lines, try a weekday. The sports side opens at 6 a.m. every day, and the Social House opens at 8 a.m., based on the hours posted on the website. A weekday morning or early afternoon is likely to be calmer than a Saturday night.
Think about what your group wants before you go. Bowling, laser tag, mini golf and the arcade are all in the Social House. The courts, turf fields and gym are on the sports side, and those spaces are often booked for leagues, practices and events. If you are hoping to shoot hoops, call first and ask if a court is open. A tournament weekend could mean the courts are full all day.
Late nights are an option for adults. On Fridays and Saturdays, both the sports side and the Social House stay open until 1 a.m. That makes it one of the few places in Henderson where a group of friends can bowl, eat and play a few rounds of darts late on a weekend. It could be a fun pick for a work outing or a date night that is not dinner and a movie.
If you are a parent, check on Child Watch before you plan a workout. The website lists two different schedules, which usually means the hours are still being sorted out in the first weeks. A quick call saves you a wasted trip with a toddler in the back seat.
Last, bring your proof of Henderson residency if you plan to sign up for anything. The 20 percent resident discount applies to youth sports registration, fitness memberships and select programs. Ask the front desk what they accept as proof, so you get the lower price the first time you register.
One more thing to keep in mind. This complex is run by a private company, even though the city helped pay for it. That means prices and hours are set by the operator and can change. Treat the hours in this article as a starting point, and confirm on the website or by phone before you make the drive.
Ryan's Take
When buyers tell me what they want near their next home, "stuff for the kids to do" is always near the top. Parks, schools, sports and a place to go on a hot Saturday all matter. A $70 million complex with courts, turf, a gym and a full fun center is the kind of amenity people mention when they talk about why they picked a neighborhood. I would not say one building changes home values on its own. I do think it adds to a story Henderson has been telling for years: this is a city that invests in places for families.
The location is worth noting. St. Rose Parkway is an easy drive for a big chunk of Henderson, and it is not far from the southwest valley either. If you are a family weighing Henderson against other parts of the valley, add this to your list of things to check out in person. Go on a weekend. See how busy it is. Talk to the parents in the bleachers. That tells you more about a neighborhood than any listing photo ever will.
What You Can Do
Want to check it out? Henderson Sport & Social is at 3375 St. Rose Parkway, Henderson, NV 89052. You do not need a membership to visit. If you live in Henderson, ask about the 20 percent resident discount when you sign up for leagues or a gym membership. Prices for bowling, laser tag and mini golf are not posted online yet, so call or check the website at hendersonsportandsocial.com before you go.
If your kids play sports, look at the league page now. The fall season is already running, and spots fill on a first come, first served basis. Ask about the programs for kids ages 5 and 6 if you have little ones who are just starting out. Adults can sign up for social leagues, too, which is a good way to meet people if you are new to town.
And if you are thinking about a move to Henderson, or just curious how new amenities like this one fit into the bigger picture of the area, I am happy to talk it through. No pressure, just local info.
