What Happened
1. Hometown Remix jerseys go on sale in Summerlin
The NHL and Fanatics are rolling out Hometown Remix jerseys for all 32 teams. The league says the designs are meant to celebrate each team's fans, city and local culture. The jerseys were unveiled at 7 a.m. PT on Monday, Nov. 2.
The Golden Knights version went on sale that same day at The Arsenal at City National Arena in Summerlin. Season-ticket members got a three-hour early shopping window starting at 7 a.m. The general public could buy starting at 10 a.m. The jerseys come in adult and youth sizes, in limited supply. The team will wear them during select games this season. The price, the full design details, and which games they will be worn at were NOT VERIFIED before the sale, so check with The Arsenal for the latest.

2. Kay's Power Play passes $450,000 for local breast cancer care
Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore and Comprehensive Cancer Centers announced new funding for Kay's Power Play on Wednesday, Oct. 28. KTNV reported $50,000 in new money, split evenly with $25,000 each to Susan G. Komen Nevada and Las Vegas Breast Cancer Warriors. Outlets reported the new amount differently, but they agree the total raised is now more than $450,000.
Kay's Power Play started in 2020 in honor of Theodore's grandmother, Kay Darlington. She battled breast cancer twice and died in June 2020. The program, now in its seventh year, pays for mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women, including women under 40 whose screenings insurance may not cover. It also helps breast cancer patients with financial assistance, emotional support and essential supplies.
In 2019, Darlington dropped the ceremonial puck at a Golden Knights Hockey Fights Cancer night. Theodore told KTNV a photo from that night still "kind of pops up on my phone now and again." His message to women was simple: "Early detection saves lives." Dr. Rupesh Parikh of Comprehensive Cancer Centers, who helped care for Darlington, described her as "kind" and said she "humbled us with her stories."

3. Hockey Fights Cancer nights: Nov. 13 and Nov. 14
The Vegas Golden Knights host their Hockey Fights Cancer night on Friday, Nov. 13, at T-Mobile Arena. The Henderson Silver Knights hold theirs the next night, Saturday, Nov. 14, at Lee's Family Forum in Henderson. The Golden Knights' opponent and puck drop time were NOT VERIFIED in this week's sources, so check the team schedule before you buy tickets.
Hockey Fights Cancer was started in 1998 by the NHL and the NHL Players' Association. It is now a season-long effort, with each team hosting its own night at different times of the year. The Silver Knights also have 16 more theme nights on their home schedule this season.

4. Mark Stone is five points from the franchise scoring lead
Going into the Nov. 2 game at Boston, captain Mark Stone was five points away from becoming the Golden Knights' all-time leading scorer. He had 17 points this season, with 9 goals and 8 assists. Mitch Marner carried a nine-game point streak, tied for second in the league, and was five points from 100 points as a Golden Knight. Jack Eichel led the team with 20 points. Vegas sat second in the Pacific Division with 19 points, behind Edmonton.
A few more milestones are close too. Shea Theodore was four games from 600 games with Vegas. Brayden McNabb was one point from 200 NHL points, and Jeremy Lauzon was one game from 400 NHL games. Stone's chase moves fast, so check the latest box score. He may already have the record by the time you read this.

5. A 9-5-1 October
On Tuesday, Oct. 27, Raphael Lavoie scored his first NHL goal, in his 27th game, as Vegas beat the Ottawa Senators 4-1 to end a three-game losing streak. Braeden Bowman scored on the power play with 11 seconds left in the second period. William Karlsson and Jack Eichel added empty-net goals. Ville Heinola assisted on Lavoie's goal, and Nic Dowd picked up his 200th career point. Adin Hill made 25 saves.
On Nevada Day, Friday, Oct. 30, the New Jersey Devils beat Vegas 5-2 at T-Mobile Arena. Mark Stone scored on the power play and Ivan Barbashev also scored for Vegas. Jack Hughes and Arseny Gritsyuk each scored twice for New Jersey, and Luke Hughes added a goal. The Devils had just added goalie Connor Hellebuyck. The loss left Vegas at 9-5-1 to close October, heading into a four-game East Coast trip that started at Boston on Nov. 2.

Why It Matters to Las Vegas Residents
The Golden Knights are more than a team in this town. They are one of the few things nearly every local shares, from Summerlin to Henderson to North Las Vegas. A new jersey is a fun thing to talk about at work or the kids' practice. But this week had more going on than merch and scores.
Kay's Power Play is about real women in our community. Mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women, including younger women whose insurance may not cover screening, can catch cancer early. Theodore said it best: early detection saves lives. When a player uses his platform to pay for local screenings, that helps families right here in Clark County.
Hockey Fights Cancer nights give families a way to honor someone they love. Many fans come to these games wearing names on their backs or holding signs for a parent, a friend or a child. With the Golden Knights on Nov. 13 at T-Mobile Arena and the Silver Knights on Nov. 14 at Lee's Family Forum, there are two chances in two nights, one on the Strip and one in Henderson.
And the Silver Knights are a great family option. Games at Lee's Family Forum in Henderson are close to home for a lot of southeast valley families. With 16 more theme nights on the schedule, there is a good chance one fits your family.
Background and History
Hockey has grown fast in Las Vegas since the Golden Knights arrived. The Arsenal at City National Arena in Summerlin is the team's practice home and a big draw for fans. Lee's Family Forum in Henderson is home to the Henderson Silver Knights, the Golden Knights' AHL affiliate. Youth and travel hockey programs have grown up around the pro teams too, giving local kids more places to play.
Kay's Power Play has been part of that community story since 2020. The program is tied to Hockey Fights Cancer, too. Kay Darlington dropped the puck at a Golden Knights Hockey Fights Cancer night in 2019, a year before she passed. That makes the Nov. 13 night extra meaningful for Theodore and his family.
Last week, we covered the Golden Knights' skid and the Nevada Day game preview in our post on the three-game skid and Nevada Day matinee. This week brought the answer: the skid ended against Ottawa, and the Nevada Day game went to New Jersey. The team also shared Nevada Day game celebration plans, including signed Nevada Day jerseys auctioned for Vegas Golden Knights Foundation programs with CCSD.
What Happens Next
Here is your Golden Knights calendar for the next few weeks:
- Now: the Hometown Remix jersey is on sale at The Arsenal at City National Arena in Summerlin, while supplies last.
- Early November: a four-game East Coast road trip that started at Boston on Monday, Nov. 2.
- Friday, Nov. 13: Golden Knights Hockey Fights Cancer night at T-Mobile Arena.
- Saturday, Nov. 14: Henderson Silver Knights Hockey Fights Cancer night at Lee's Family Forum.
- Any game now: Mark Stone's run at the franchise scoring record.
Watch for the team to announce which games will feature the Hometown Remix jersey. And keep an eye on Marner's point streak and his chase to 100 points as a Golden Knight.
Ryan's Take
I coach youth hockey here in Las Vegas, so weeks like this one hit home for me. When I see kids at the rink in Golden Knights jerseys, I see a city that has really made this sport its own. A new Hometown Remix jersey made for Vegas is a fun way for families to celebrate that.
The part that matters most to me is Kay's Power Play. It is local money paying for local screenings. If you are a woman who has been putting off a mammogram because of cost, please look into the groups this program supports. And if you are a fan looking for a way to give back, Hockey Fights Cancer night is a great place to start. Hockey brings this town together, and this week showed it at its best.
What You Can Do
Want a Hometown Remix jersey? Head to The Arsenal at City National Arena in Summerlin. Sizes are limited, so call ahead or check the team's shop online before you make the drive.
Plan for Hockey Fights Cancer. Get tickets for the Golden Knights on Friday, Nov. 13, at T-Mobile Arena, or for the Henderson Silver Knights on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Lee's Family Forum. Silver Knights games are often an easier ticket for families. Many fans bring a sign or wear a name to honor someone they love.
Support breast cancer care in Southern Nevada. Kay's Power Play supports Susan G. Komen Nevada and Las Vegas Breast Cancer Warriors. KTNV did not list a donation link or a way for patients to apply, so reach out to those groups directly to give or to ask about help with screenings.
